Fruit Crumble

Ingredients:
600g Bramley Apples, peeled, cored and sliced
75g Caster sugar
600g Ripe pears, peeled, cored and sliced
350g Fresh Blackberries
125g Butter
175g Plain Flour
125g Light Muscovdo sugar
100g Toasted Hazlenuts, chopped

Method:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180c
  2. Place the apples and caster sugar in a large saucepan with 1tbsp water
  3. Cover and cook over a low heat for 8 – 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the slices are soft, but still holding their shape
  4. Stir in the pears and blackberries and spoon the fruit into a 1.7ltr ovenproof dish
  5. To make the toping, put the butter, flour and muscovado suagr in a bowl and rub together until the mixture resembles crumbs
  6. Stir in the hazlenuts
  7. Sprinkle the mixture over the fruit and bake in the oven for 30 – 40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling
  8. Serve warm with a choice of ice cream, custard or think cream
